60 MILE RADIUS RULE 12hr Nights 7p-7:30a 26 weeks (preferred) BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire. Minimum 2 years of previous OR experience required. Experience must be within the last 6 months. Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred; preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred. Qualified candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient's needs, e.g. clinical and teaching. Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner. Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment instrumentation utilized in providing a safe and/or aseptic environment in and OR/ASU setting. On call, weekends and holiday rotation required. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current NYS RN license.
